Lina Maria Castillo Duque, was born in 1986 in Pereira, Colombia. She graduates as an industrial designer at the JORGE TADEO LOZANO University in Bogotà. She then travels to Italy for attending a master in product design at ISTITUTO MARANGONI in Milan. Here, she takes part in different workshops along with important and internationally recognized industries like: CARL ZEISS VISION, DIAMANTINI & DOMENICONI, DUCATI, IIDA, TECHNOGYM e UNITED PETS, in collaboration with well known designers such as: Chiara Moreschi, Enrico Azzimonti, Emmanuel Gallina, Joe Velluto Studio e Lorenzo Palmieri. In 2010, Lina takes part in one of the world’s most important lens exhibition, the SILMO MONDIAL DE L'OPTIQUE in Paris, displaying two pieces realized for CARL ZEISS VISION. In 2011 she graduates in packaging design at ISDAL and takes part in the group Formazione per Formatori, for establishing herself as a design lecturer at the JORGE TADEO LOZANO University in Bogotà. Lina used to work with ALTEK, renowned company for what concerns indoor and outdoor furniture design. In the meantime, she works as a freelancer and keeps developing projects for UNITED PETS. Two fo these, were presented in May 2012 at the INTERZOO exhibition in Norimberga, and dropped in the market during summer 2012. It is important to underline that her works present a minimalist style, elegance, simplicity and harmonious details that complete the functionality of her works.
